Frequently Asked Questions

What markets do you currently buy cars in?

Currently, Valleycargroup.com is buying private party vehicles in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Can I sell a car on behalf of a company?

Yes, Valleycargroup.com buys vehicles from businesses of all sizes every single day.

Do you buy leased cars?

Yes! In most cases, you can sell your leased car in almost the same way as any other financed car. We’ll appraise the car, then contact the leasing company for a payoff quote and process any equity you might have. Please note that some leasing companies will not allow you to sell the car prior to the expiration of the lease. Also, be aware that your leased car might not be eligible for trade-in tax savings. Check with your leasing company for complete details.

What if I owe more on my car than the amount of your offer?

If your payoff amount is more than the offer for your car, the difference is called "negative equity." We’ll calculate the difference between your pay-off and our offer to you and you can pay Valleycargroup.com directly. Our written offers are good for seven days, giving you time to get any necessary funds to settle your transaction.

How do I get paid for my car?

You will leave with payment in hand the same day you sell us your car. We pay with a Cashier's Check from Chase Bank.

What do I need to sell my car?

Requirements can vary from state to state, but there are a few items you’ll need no matter where you are:
  • Your car’s title or payoff information. All titleholders should be present.
  • Valid and current registrations
  • Valid state-issued photo ID for all title holders.
  • All keys and remotes
Please note that you don’t need these things to get an offer for your car, but if you think you plan to sell when you get your offer, you should come prepared with these items.

How do you determine my offer?

A trained appraiser reviews current market conditions as well as your car’s specific year, make, model, mileage, and vehicle history report. We examine your car’s condition inside and out for major defects like frame or flood damage. We also test drive your car and check to see if the brakes and turn signals are working (among other things). If repairs are needed, we may adjust our offer accordingly. In regard to cleanliness, the long-term maintenance and care of your car is what’s most important in determining our appraisal offer.

What can I expect during my inspection appointment?

  • Our low-touch appraisals allow us to inspect the vehicle in a safe sanitary way.
  • You’ll observe your car’s appraisal – maintaining a distance of at least 6 feet from your vehicle.
  • Offers may be contingent on verifying a car’s mechanical condition with a test drive and/or a review of the cosmetic condition of the vehicle.
  • If you decide to sell, you can leave with payment in hand. You can also take up to 7 days to compare your options.

Will you pick up my vehicle from my home?

We are happy to meet our customers at a place they are comfortable with including their home, workplace, or a local Chase Bank. Many customers like the convenience of meeting at the bank, so they can leave with their payment.

What do I do after I get an offer?

If you want to redeem your offer and sell your car to Valleycargroup.com, you have 7 days from the day the offer is made to request a live inspection. We will come to you and we’ll verify your car’s condition, finalize your offer, and you’ll be able to leave with payment in hand.

Can I negotiate my offer?

We are committed to a fair competitive offer and are open to counters, though all of our offers are firm and are valid for only 7 days.

Is the initial offer a real offer or an estimate?

After requesting an initial offer, you will receive a text, email, or a phone call with a real offer that is valid for 7 days. Once we verify your car's condition and it matches the information we received online through a live inspection at the place of your choosing, you'll leave with payment in hand.

Can I sell my car to Valleycargroup.com without buying a car from Valleycargroup.com?

Valleycargroup.com focuses on buying private party vehicles from the public at a top-dollar rate. If needed, we help our customers find the vehicle they are looking for. However, Valleycargroup.com is focused more on buying and not selling.
